Embody the soul of a place

Entering a hotel means putting yourself in a bubble, a protective airlock, a place of visual, taste, sound and olfactory emotions.

Everything must be experienced, everything must be shared. Be greeted by a smile, smell a light amber fragrance, admire a bouquet of fresh flowers, touch vintage furniture, marvel at a light on the ceiling, recognize a piece of jazz...

Maxime Meregnani, founder of the sound design agency Tshoko, evokes a musical wallpaper that is present without imposing itself when he collaborates with hotels. Broadcasting the right music at the right time means adapting to each establishment, its decor, its history, its place in the city, its teams.

In the olfactory domain, certain perfumes are like a cashmere stole that rests on your shoulders and comforts you on entering a cozy and hushed lobby. Others are an invigorating zest that makes your nostrils sparkle like a colourful piece of art in a hallway leading to your bedroom.

Is this the effect of the health crisis? At the start of the year, our perfumers aspire to a frenzy of controlled delirium, explosive and cheerful notes and at the same time, they evoke the need for contemplation, withdrawal, a return to a form of calm. When a nose works on a hotel, he is inspired by the place and puts himself totally at the service of his client and what makes him unique.

Nathalie Feisthauer, independent perfumer after having worked for Givaudan and Symrise summarizes it by saying: "what I'm looking for is that beyond words, we know immediately where we are". The pitfall to avoid: falling short of the style, history and clientele of the establishment. This is why the creative capacity of perfumers must be fully at the service of a universe and its identity.

Discreet or marked, fragrances are the emotions that customers will remember the most. Several months after staying in a hotel, lighting your candle will evoke an immediate flood of memories and sensations linked to this place. This is what makes the best-selling product in hotel boutiques is its perfume. The list of made-to-measure scented objects is constantly growing and beyond the spray, soap or candle, we now find hydro-alcoholic gels or even travel diaries with scented sheets…

At Eco French Lab, we believe that to smell a smell is to feel alive. We support our hospitality customers in their desire to be places of life and experiences at any time of the day and night. Places that will be fondly remembered for a long time.
